Monitoring wildlife with remote cameras
Photographic non-invasive sampling…
Remote cameras provide an opportunity to peek into the lives of animals, to observe which animals are where and to monitor their comings and goings. I have used cameras in a number of different ways:
To monitor behavioural responses to human disturbance
To observe patterns in fence crossing with respect to wildlife friendly fences
To model the abundance and distribution of wildlife in the Cooking Lake - Blackfoot Provincial Recreation Area
Semi-automated program to define unique events (EventFinder Suite)
